Volunteering with the Herefordshire Housing Group
We always need volunteers to help us in our work, whether it’s just giving us an hour or two of your time at our Job Club, in one of our classes, becoming a peer mentor or simply helping us by filling out questionnaires and customer surveys. It’s a great opportunity to get involved across the Midlands.
Volunteering can help you to;
- Get involved in the local community
- Support a worthwhile cause
- Meet new people and make friends
- Remain physically active and emotionally healthy.
Whether you want to ‘give something back’ or gain skills and experience for your CV, you’ll quickly feel valued and part of our team of people who volunteer for all different reasons.
Mike wanted to do something completely different when he retired from running his own company – and found a whole new vocation volunteering his time to support people with mental health challenges.
Anna is Polish and speaks several languages. At home with a baby, she wanted to contribute more to the community – so she’s recently become one of our volunteer Language Champions and helps us reach out to and engage with people from Eastern Europe whose first language is not English.
Take part and make a contribution to your community
‘Involvement’ is one of our key values. The more we understand what you want, the more choice we can give, and the better our services will be – and that’s why we welcome your input and views. By getting involved, you help shape and influence the way we work, and the experience you get can help you too! You don’t need to have any particular skills – we’ll provide all the support and training you need. Some volunteering roles require a DBS Check (Disclosure and Barring Service Check), but our teams will guide you through this process.
