Here's what some of our Apprentices have to say about us.
Gemma. Age 19. Finance Apprentice (AAT)
Since joining the Finance Team last year (September 2014), I have done what feels like a million different things. I have attended multiple training courses including Action on Hearing Loss & minute taking; which are so very useful. My team ensure that I am enrolled onto the latest training courses so that I can develop my skills further. I have nearly completed my AAT level 3 now, with passing spreadsheets, accounts preparation and Cost & Analyse. Once I have finished my level 3; I will be looking to start level 4 in September.
Sonya. Age 38. Business Administration.
Before I came to do my apprenticeship at Herefordshire Housing in February 2014 I was a full time mum to 8 children. I’ve never done this type of work before, so it’s been a whole new experience for me. I’ve been made to feel part of a team and had lots of support. I also work at our Job Club. At job club we help people to search for jobs, write their CV's and support them whilst they are searching for work - I really enjoy it. I am currently half way through my NVQ Level 2 and still go to college once a week. Being an apprentice at my age has been really good and I’ve learnt so much and so I would definately recommend it to people of the same age as me. Sonya has now moved into a permanent role with HHL Group as a Reablement Worker.
Sabrina. Age 20. Electrical
I have been part of the planned maintenance team for nearly 2 years and am really enjoying my apprenticeship. I work in our customers homes, particularly working on kicthens, bathrooms an property rewires, making sure that everything is safe and at a good standard. I am now at the standard where i am able to attend appointments on my own; having passed my driving test in late 2013. My Manager Andrew and apprenticeship supervisor Aiden are really pleased with my work and I hope to finish my apprentiship this September.
Amy Age 20. Business Administration
I have been an apprentice with Herefordshire Housing since November 2012 - and I've recently completed my course. I was so pleased to have compelted my apprenticeship but sad too as I had really enjoyed my time with the organisation. I was delighted to secure an interview for a new post within the Development Team....and I successully got the job! I am now the Development Assistant for the organisation and hope to progress my career further within Development. I would really recommend doing an Apprenticeship with Herefordshire Housing because I received so much support from colleagues across the group.
